Dr. John S. Pellerito, FAIUM, FACR, FSRU is the Vice Chair of the Department of Radiology at Northwell Health. He is a long-standing member of the AIUM and has held multiple major positions in the organization including serving as Chair for the following committees: Clinical Standards Committee, Ultrasound Practice Committee, Membership Committee, Point of Care Ultrasound Task Force, Cardiovascular Ultrasound Section and Medical Student Section. He has served on the Finance Committee, Board of Governors and Executive Committees of the AIUM. He is Professor of Radiology and Science Education at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and is co-director of the SONICS ultrasound program for medical students at the University. He is the co-editor of Introduction to Vascular Ultrasonography, in its 7th edition. He is the author of multiple original articles and book chapters, and his current research interests include developing new imaging strategies for OB/GYN and cardiovascular diseases including 3D imaging and ultrasound contrast agents. He currently serves on the Executive Committee for the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for Vascular Testing (IAC). He currently serves on multiple committees, including the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America and the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound.
