Venous System Doppler and Doppler of Hemodialysis Access

The session provides a review of the utilization of ultrasound Doppler in the evaluation of the peripheral venous system, common and rare IVC and portal vein pathologies, and hemodialysis creation. Scanning techniques and protocols will be discussed. Ultrasound diagnostic criteria for hemodialysis access complications will be provided. A brief review of the management of peripheral and central venous conditions will be provided.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the role of ultrasound Doppler in the evaluation of the peripheral venous system.
  • Review the role of ultrasound Doppler in the evaluation of the IVC and portal vein.
  • Review the role of ultrasound Doppler in the evaluation of hemodialysis creation.
