Dr. Gavin Rogers is a nationally recognized educator, award-winning teacher, and accomplished ultrasound instructor at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), where he serves as Co-Director of Ultrasound Education and Assistant Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship. With over a decade of experience in emergency medicine, ultrasound, and clinical education, Dr. Rogers holds specialized certifications in critical care echocardiography, advanced emergency ultrasound, and diagnostic cardiac and medical sonography (CCEeXAM, AEMUS-FPD, RDCS, RDMS).
Since joining EVMS, Dr. Rogers has made significant contributions to medical education through innovative curriculum design and effective teaching methodologies. He has pioneered key programs within ultrasound education, including contributions to the M3 Emergency Medicine (EM) clerkship and an advanced ultrasound rotation for senior medical students. His curriculum development also includes a robust M4 honors ultrasound course, along with impactful lectures for various academic levels.
Dr. Rogers’ teaching extends beyond the classroom; as principal investigator on research in ultrasound education and trauma care, he has shared findings at prominent conferences, further enriching the field. Clinically, he has earned the Society Level Focused Practice Designation in Emergency Ultrasound (AEMUS-FPD) and has actively supported underserved communities through his work with the Street Health Initiative.
In his roles at EVMS, Dr. Rogers is deeply committed to delivering comprehensive ultrasound education that encompasses both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.
