Dr. Anna Jarvis is a third-year resident physician in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Georgetown University for her undergraduate education, majoring in Human Science and graduating in 2018. After 4 years in DC, she returned to California to pursue her MD at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. During her training, Dr. Jarvis has been particularly focused on the intersection of social media, education, and advocacy working as a social media intern for Planned Parenthood, creating a curriculum for sexual education courses at a local high school, developing an abortion education curriculum for her peers and advocating with her ACOG district. Her career interests include the effect of chronic medical conditions on severe maternal morbidity and maternal mental health, as well as medical education. She plans to pursue a career as a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist with dedicated time for medical education and reproductive advocacy. When not at the hospital, you can find Dr. Jarvis training for her next race and running with her husband and Black Lab-German Sheppard mix.
