Emergency Medicine Resident
West Virginia University
Morgantown, United States
Usha Wasilefsky, DO is a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Resident at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. She enjoys using POCUS on shift at Ruby Memorial, a busy Level 1 Trauma Center. She grew up mainly in Columbia, MD, attending University of Maryland College Park for undergrad, obtained her M.S. in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University, and went on to do her medical training at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Before medical school, she spent 4 gap years working within public health research, and project management. During that time, she studied tobacco dependence in low-income areas of DC, lead ongoing projects in Baltimore, MD that examined social determinants of health, and later program planning for c-suite execs of hospital systems. Her current EM interests are in Pediatrics, Ultrasound, and health equity. When not working at the hospital, she can be found running or hiking with her dogs Remus and Mando, exploring local craft breweries, meticulously following a recipe in the kitchen, or traveling with her husband.
