Dr. Christine McBeth is an emergency medicine physician with a rich background in Ultrasound and Global Health. After completing her medical degree, she pursued a two-year fellowship specializing in Ultrasound and Global Health, showcasing her commitment to advancing medical practices on a global scale. Board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. McBeth has also achieved Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography.
Currently serving as the Global Health Director for Residents and Fellows at the UC Davis Health System, Dr. McBeth plays a pivotal role in mentoring and shaping the professional development of trainees. She actively creates opportunities for elective experiences, research initiatives, and funding prospects for aspiring healthcare professionals under her guidance.
Dr. McBeth holds multiple leadership roles, including Director for International Ultrasound and co-director for the Global Health Area of Distinction for Emergency Medicine residents. As the Director of Resident Ultrasound Education for Emergency Medicine, she has pioneered innovative curriculum development, enriching the educational experiences of emergency physicians during their training.
With a passion for performance improvement, resident education, and promoting diversity and equity in healthcare, Dr. McBeth has dedicated herself to teaching ultrasound in low-resource settings. Her commitment extends globally, as evidenced by her involvement in projects in Uganda, Belize, Nepal, The Gambia, Laos, and Vietnam.
One of Dr. McBeth's primary focuses is a longitudinal ultrasound project in The Gambia. This initiative involves annual in-person point-of-care ultrasound bootcamps and a groundbreaking multi-disciplinary remote curriculum. This remote curriculum incorporates quality assurance measures and virtual lectures, showcasing her dedication to advancing medical education through technology and innovation.
