Matthew W. Urban, Ph.D. is a Professor of Radiology and Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering at South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD in 2002 and the Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, MN in 2007. He has a primary appointment in the Department of Radiology and joint appointment in the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering. His current research interests are ultrasonic signal and image processing, shear wave elastography, optical coherence elastography, and uses of color Doppler for biopsy marker visualization. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Acoustical Society of America.
