I grew up in southern Los Angeles and come from a Mexican-American ethnic background. I attended UC San Diego for undergraduate studies and majored in Human Biology with a minor in Healthcare - Social issues. I then did a post-bac program at CSU Los Angeles before attending UC San Diego School of Medicine. I was part of the first inuagural class of the Southwest Healthcare MEC emergency medicine residency program where I went on to become chief resident. I enjoyed ultrasound vascular access as a focus of my research during residency and encouraged me to pursue a fellowship in ultrasound at UC San Diego. My personal interests include medical education, medical Spanish and ultrasound procedural guidance.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
