Robert Muratore, PhD FAIUM is Chief Science Officer of Sonogen Medical, Inc. He holds a B.E.S. degree in bioengineering from Johns Hopkins University, an M.S.E. degree in applied physics from Princeton University, and a Ph.D. degree in biophysics from Syracuse University. Dr. Muratore was a National Research Council Resident Research Associate at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. He is Past President of the Ultrasonic Industry Association. He co-chaired the 11th International Symposium on Therapeutic Ultrasound and served as the United States Delegate for the American National Standards Institute at an International Electrotechnical Commission meeting on ultrasound standards. He is the Founding Editor of the Journal of Therapeutic Ultrasound, former Associate Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, and current Advisory Editorial Board member of the Journal of Ultrasound In Medicine. He is a co-author on more than three dozen scientific articles and is a co-inventor on multiple ultrasound patents. Since 2018, he has served as the Director of STEAM at Portledge School and holds adjunct appointments at local universities. Dr. Muratore's current research focuses on the integration of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound therapy with imaging.
