Adam Dixon, Ph.D., is the Executive Vice President of Engineering at RIVANNA, bringing over 15 years of expertise in technology development, clinical translation, and commercialization within the medical device sector. He has led ultrasound technology development programs at RIVANNA and GE Healthcare, successfully commercializing numerous hardware and image-processing innovations on platforms such as RIVANNA's Accuro and GE's Logiq E9. Dr. Dixon has authored over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, 40 conference abstracts, and 30 patents. As an active participant in the NIH SBIR program, both as a grant awardee and reviewer, he has secured more than $12 million in SBIR funding to advance RIVANNA’s neuraxial anesthesia ultrasound guidance technologies. Since 2021, Dr. Dixon has also spearheaded the technical development of ultrasound-based medical countermeasures for burn and blast trauma triage under a >$50 million BARDA-funded program, further expanding the reach of RIVANNA's application-specific ultrasound imaging technologies.
