Dr. Martins earned her M.D. in Brazil. After completing her residency in 2007 she attended a specialized ultrasound training program in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2008 and worked on the prenatal diagnosis field for 3 years. She and her husband moved to United States to pursue further training. She served as Academic Chief for 2016-2017 at the Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program in Miami, FL. Juliana has received the following awards: "Mary O’Sullivan" (Excellence in Performance in MFM), "Outstanding Chief Resident," "Helen Lansman" (Most Compassionate Resident Towards Patients) and "Academic Chief Award." She began her MFM Fellowship in July 2017 at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has presented at several society meetings and has published a number of abstracts, peer reviewed articles, book chapters, and two books on prenatal ultrasound. She is the co-author of the recently published national guideline on Fetal Growth Restriction diagnosis and management (Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine). Her personal interests include ultrasound prenatal diagnosis, point-of-care ultrasound in obstetrics, fetal growth restriction and surgical obstetrics.
