Dr. Vanden Brink is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition at Texas A&M University. Dr. Vanden Brink earned a Master's degree in Health Sciences, specializing in reproductive physiology and endocrinology (University of Saskatchewan) and a PhD in Human Nutrition (Cornell University). Dr. Vanden Brink is a trained diagnostic medical sonographer in obstetrical and gynecological imaging, and has leveraged this training to design, conduct, and analyze several studies to characterize the progression of follicle wave dynamics across the reproductive lifespan and to improve diagnostic utility of ovarian features for improved and earlier recognition of PCOS in adolescence and in adults. The overarching goal of her research program is to detect, understand, and prevent unique etiologies of reproductive axis miscalibration that lead to anovulatory conditions such as PCOS in adolescence.
