Adam Maxwell, PhD, is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics at Virginia Tech. His research spanning 20 years has centered on therapeutic ultrasound technologies including lithotripsy and high-intensity focused ultrasound. His research has investigated physical mechanisms of histotripsy and lithotripsy technologies. He has designed and developed several ultrasound transducers and electronic systems for therapeutic platforms both in research and commercial settings.
