Ultrasound can modulate brain activity through low temperature or mechanical mechanisms. This session will cover theories and evidence for how a mechanical physical effect results in biophysical effects on neurons.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss recent studies on the mechanism of TUS.
  • List the many parameters of TUS and how they affect neuronal modulation
  • Understand outstanding questions in ultrasound neuromodulation.
