Liver cirrhosis is a spectrum of disease with specific complications such as development of fat deposition, fibrosis, portal hypertension with decompensated cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver failure. These stages of progression can be diagnosed and monitored with Ultrasound. Advanced US applications for liver disease such as contrast enhanced ultrasound, fat quantification, and liver elastography will be discussed.
