Extraterrestrial Medical Care

Sunday, March 30, 2025 with Scott Dulchavsky, MD, PhD

See how ultrasound is an enabling, point-of-care solution to provide diagnostic information for an ever-increasing number of clinical conditions that may occur during spaceflight. Many of the lessons learned in space medicine have and can be transitioned to improve care back on our planet.

Dr Dulchavsky is a professor of surgery, molecular biology, and genetics at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Michigan State University, and a principal investigator for NASA. He is a member of the Space Technology Hall of Fame for his work with ultrasound technologies developed for use in manned space flights that are now adapted for practice on Earth.
